The site of buildings and landscape spaces in Eggisried on the Günz grew gradually out of the nucleus on the eastern bank of the Günz, where the residence and the chapel stand. On the western bank of the Günz, the architecture of today's Erich-Schickling-Stiftung took shape over a period of 50 years.
