Opening with IL MIMO
On 8 April 2025

With waltzing sounds of the spheres, the mime Wolfgang Fendt alias IL MIMO opened the annual programme of the Erich Schickling Stiftung. The inauguration of the audio guide for invited guests then became a festive, lively walk through the park grounds and the architecture of the artist Erich Schickling.

Whether arriving on hiking trails, the “Glücksheimatrunde” or via the access road from the hamlet of Eggisried, visitors are now greeted by an information board with a flyer and QR code for orientation, wayfinding and an introduction to the artist's work and the origins of this place.

Ottobeuren's head of cultural affairs, Peter Kraus, welcomed the guests and guests of honour with palpable delight at this step by the Foundation.
The joint tour through the stations of the guide was led by the Foundation chair Ulrike Meyer, who provided explanations along the way. Short samples from the audios were played over loudspeakers. At the sculpture “Drei Ringe”, Father Rubert from the Benedictine abbey gave the blessing for all guests who come into contact here with the art and the spirituality of the place through the audio guide.

After the sound of the bell, the clarinet of Günter Schwanghart rang out unexpectedly from a hidden space by Franziskus and Pythia.
