Orpheus and Eurydice – two talks, two perspectives.

Dr. Gertrud Roth-Bojadzhiev (Augsburg) undertakes an analysis of the pictorial

theme in the work of Erich Schickling from a formal and compositional perspective. This is

followed by the talk by Prof. Dr. Lydia Maidl (Tübingen). Using the picture, she considers the

possible interpretations of this famous and ever highly topical myth of

love and death.
