Traces of Light towards Easter Morning

Inspirations from music, painting and poetry.

The light of Easter morning shines into Holy Week, for each of us personally and for all of us together. To trust this light for our lives, to entrust ourselves to it, was a fundamental concern of the artist Erich Schickling (1924-2012) in all his work. "I actually only ever wanted to paint pictures of the resurrection" he said in a conversation. Amid his pictures, architecture and nature, music and poetry will bring us into resonance with the Easter light within us. You are invited to the Erich-Schickling Stiftung, a magnificent place in the Günztal near Ottobeuren, distinguished by a unique unity of nature, painting and architecture. It is a place of encounter.

Performers: Lydia Maidl, professor of theology specialising in spirituality and art as well as spiritual care, explores traces of light of Easter morning in our lives with poetic texts and reflections on pictures.

Francesca Rappay, musician. Inspired by Schickling's pictures and the reflections of Lydia Maidl, she creates spiritual sound spaces from classical music and intuitive improvisation with violin and monochord.

An event as part of the Ulrich Jubilee in the Diocese of Augsburg: With the Ear of the Heart
